Busch Gardens (Florida)

3000 E Busch Blvd, Tampa, Florida, FL 33612

You can wear anything you like to get wet. Readers report they have seen lots of guys in Jeans and T-shirts, completely soaked.

Watch out when your seemingly tranquil jungle journey aboard a 20-passenger boat ends with a sudden plunge down a 55-foot drop. This creates an enormous wave that gets everyone sopping wet. You must be 48 inches tall and other restrictions may apply.

Take some photos on the bridge across the splash down area. It causes a huge wave that soakes everybody on the bridge in seconds.

By the way, they'll have Gay Day on the Fourth of July.

Flying Super Saturator at Carowinds (North Carolina)

This one is really fun! What a great idea. We sure hope to see more of this concept at other parks.

Paramount's Carowinds commenced its 2001 season with a new, truly family fun ride. For all the attention generated by the envelope-pushing coasters and high-tech dark rides coming online each year, the ride that will have the most far ranging impact on wet folks like us slipped into service relatively quietly. Watch the video.

Get wet in a Flying Super Saturator This is a really one of a kind attraction: it's a water ride, playground, and a swinging coaster. Four people (2 facing forwards, 2 backwards) ride in each car. The ride lasts about a minute as each car swings gently through fountains, geysers and waterfalls all themed with Nick cartoon characters.

This highly interactive attraction involves a large volume of water in jets, in columns, in curtains - everywhere. It looks like a giant water party has broken out. And with the ride appealing equally to rider, shooters, and watchers, the park is anticipating word-of-mouth and hot summer days to make Super Saturator one of the park's most effective attendance drivers ever.

A Coaster where even the Queue is Fun!

The Super Saturator usually has the longest wait of any ride in the park, but the wait itself is fun. Either wear a poncho or clothes that can get wet, because this ride will soak you through to the bone.

The twist is that the riders can dump buckets of water on a passerby or folks waiting in line, and those on the ground have plenty of opportunites to fire back at the riders and each other. No matter what the line, this is a must ride!

You'll be surprised how different the experience is depending upon whether you are facing forward or backward. It seems tame but fun backwards, but facing first into walls of water is a blast!

This would even be more fun if the capacity were higher though. Perhaps evenly spaced, continuously moving seats, (like a ski lift) which go through the array of water hazards would allow for more riders per hour. This attraction is a great addition to an all time favorite parks.

Most folks just want a ride that is exhilarating and fun, but something they can ride with a spouse, a date, or with the kids, and not have to worry about whiplash or losing their lunch.

The ride's popularity can be attributed to clever theming and a smooth, free-swinging motion that eliminates jolts and lateral Gs and closely mimics the sensation of flight.

We've watched as all sorts of people climb on board this coaster and come swinging back into the station with huge grins on their faces.

A variant is the ROLLER SOAKER. It is the ultimate aerial water experience featuring water squirt guns, water sprayers, and spurting geysers. Each rider will be able to actually dump up to four gallons of water on spectators below, whenever they choose, while the spectators can direct huge water sprayers toward the riders, offering a drenching interaction for everyone. Being suspended so high above the ground for the majority of the ride with your feet dangling is an incredible experience!

It's rare to find a ride that doesn't look for fame by just being a record breaker, or by just being a fun ride. This ride is not the fastest, tallest, or any other one of those things, but just all the elements of a fun ride. What a great way to get soaked; and kids and adults both love it.
